The Group has been engaged in the offshore towing business since 1972, and from 1985 it also operates offshore semi-submersible barges.

Benefiting from the skills and experience acquired over the years, the Group has progressively evolved from a “stand-alone” vessel provider to a “turn-key” supplier of barges, tugs, operational and engineering services, thus optimizing the strategic and operational synergies through an integrated approach to the offshore activities on a worldwide basis. Within this sector, today Augustea runs a fleet of four Anchor Handling Tugs, three C-Class semi-submersible barges and two flat-top ballastable barges, operated directly or through join ventures.

The main fields of activity are: renewable T&I campaigns with specific and world-wide experience in offshore wind farms, Oil & Gas, ocean towage, salvage support and special operations. A notable endeavour that Augustea is appreciative of is that it had a prominent part in salvaging the 400m+ container ship Ever Given that was blocking the Suez Canal in 2021.

Together with its partners, Augustea is capable of providing project management, and engineering and logistical solutions for specific projects.
