Augustea operates 17 tugs with an aggregate capacity of approximately 50,000 Kw and a weighted average age of 18 years as of December 31, 2008, under towing licences for the ports of Augusta, Syracuse, Catania and Pozzallo all located in the eastern coast of Sicily (Italy). While in Augusta and Syracuse the business is mainly involved with the petrochemical industry, in Catania is principally concerned with passenger ferry activity.

Concessions provide the company the exclusive management of all towing activities within these ports until 2023, when present public licences will expire.

Established in 2007, Augustea Grancolombia sa, provides harbour towing in Colombia in Santa Marta harbour and in Puerto Produco, Puerto Drummond and Rio Cordoba with two further ASD tugs.

Augustea is a member of Confitarma, Assorimorchiatori and of the European Tugowner Association.
