Augustea Rigenoil Srl, a 50/50% joint venture, has been incorporated in 2011 to collect bilge waters and slops from vessels, tankers and chemical carriers in the harbour of Augusta, thus contributing to raise the standards of port security, as well as to enhance the environmental protection.

Furthermore, since the early 1980s, Augustea dedicates specific human and physical resources to salvage and anti-pollution operations. Augustea Spa acquired technologically advanced equipment and invested in a highly professional “salvage team”, being then able to prepare and perform in safety all possible operations connected with salvage operations.

The Company, which is member of the International Salvage Union, has so far completed over 90 such operations, of which at least 20 were exceptionally difficult.
